NEW RURALITIES (NERU) international summer class
Porto do Son (Spain) · 5-14 September 2024
Summer class workshop on the topic of New Ruralities
- 10-day intensive teaching and co-creative workshop addressing rural Europe, part of the ongoing collaboration
among six universities and their respective faculties of architecture (ULB, UDC, UMINHO, POLITO, ETH, and UACG) - All expenses covered by the Erasmus+ Partnerships for Cooperation (travel, accommodation, and food)
- Limited places for 3rd bachelor, master, and doctoral students in architecture, urbanism, and landscape
You will harness different methods for grasping rural territories and imagining their future, together with local stakeholders and collectives like Landra, Space Transcribers, and Fundación RIA.
During the first half of the summer class, invited instructors bring their practices to us, whether artistic, cartographic, entrepreneurial, or architectural. During the second half, you are invited to develop your proposals, devices, interventions, and mock-ups… around four topics deemed relevant to the social-ecological conditions of the Barbanza peninsula: water, soil, forestry, and industry.
If you are interested in joining, send a motivation letter (one A4 max) and a brief portfolio (10 A4 or 5 A3 max) accompanied by a transcript of your marks to pablo.gallego@udc.es by June 2.
